In my career as a therapist, I have worked with seniors who don't settle in well to new communities because they are still mourning the loss of a beloved home.  And by then, it is too late to go back and do the move a different way.  

That experience has led me to create the 

HOUSE CLOSURE CEREMONY.

Throughout history, major life transitions have been marked by ceremony and ritual.  Birth, marriage, graduation, retirement, death.  All are honored by some form of ceremony.  But leaving a house that someone has spent years loving and caring for is seldom given the respect it deserves.

I work with families to create a personalized ceremony during the move-out process to allow the senior a chance to tell the story of the house and say goodbye.  And having a chance to do this helps them move on and find happiness in the next chapter of their lives.
